Southwest Cable Services became an IAG client in late 2019.
We introduced several potential buyers to Southwest Cable prior to the pandemic, but all passed mostly due to customer concentration concerns.
Further, the dominant client, Arizona Public Service, cut back spending during the pandemic primarily to keep its employees safe thereby destroying the company’s financials.
IAG’s transaction team advised the owner that they needed to secure substantial contracts in order to attract a buyer in the near term.
Early in 2021 Southwest received notice that they had won a very large contract as well as a few smaller ones as APS could not further defer maintenance on its electrical system.
Our transaction team went back to all the previous buyers with the news, and was able to engage just one in discussions again.
We introduced the buyer to one of our approved financing partners, who found a lender who would readily finance the deal and get the job done!
