Cadence Keen Innovations (CKI), a supplier of bedding and bedding accessories based in West Palm Beach, FL, has been sold to a strategic buyer from Canada.
The sale, facilitated by IAG, was led by Flavia Milano and John Loewen, who worked with the client services team to find the right match for the company.
A Careful Search for the Right Buyer
CKI, which supplies bedding products to cruise lines and hotels, was founded by its current owner, who holds patents for several of the company’s products. After years of building the business, the 76-year-old owner decided to retire but was selective about the buyer. She declined several offers from financial buyers, seeking someone who would preserve the company’s direction and values.
Acquisition by HealthGuard
The buyer, Bay Street, operates under the HealthGuard brand and is a distributor of bedding products in Canada. They acquired CKI to establish a presence in the U.S. market. The sale allows CKI to continue operating under new ownership, with the original owner staying on for six months to assist with the transition.
Transition and Next Steps
The terms of the deal remain undisclosed, but both parties are satisfied with the outcome. IAG’s team played a key role in ensuring a smooth process for the transaction.
The acquisition positions CKI for its next phase, supported by a new owner while maintaining its existing operations and standards.
